The request line.

I'm a sucker for requests.
Wait. Nix that.
I'm a sucker for good requests.

A million brain cells.

Let your mind take a trip into deep space courtesy of Francois K.

La La Land (FK Dub) / Green Velvet (YSI) - expired.

p.s.
How can one not love Green Velvet/Cajmere/Curtis Alan Jones/Geo Vogt? Dude's been making dance music with conviction for close to 20 years now. Tough stuff. And FK – well, that's just a no brainer.

p.p.s.
I am on fire with the double entendres tonight!

Social Butterfly.

So I joined Facebook. It seems interesting...but really confusing to me right now. Like, what the hell is my Wall? Anywho – to all those readers on Facebook, you can find me here.

Night Dancer.

Roller disco madness from 1979. Things really start to get nuts around the eight minute mark.
The lucky ones who got their hands on the El Bum LP last year may also recall the smokin' hot Beat Broker dub of this track.

Rainy Day Rips

I'm trying to step up my game when it comes to ripping vinyl to digital format. The rips are getting better. At least I'd like to think they are getting better. Any insight into how I can improve my process would be greatly appreciated.

Until then - enjoy two 'good quality' rips from DFA's latest release. Capracara is a man of many aliases and has releases on Rekids, Kill the DJ and History Clock. Serious business.

As always, the 'highest quality' audio can be found on the actual release ... so go buy it!

YouTube'n.

Don't fret readers. This blog's gonna be staying audial. I'll leave the visual delights to Future Man and Same Desire. But brilliance like this must be shared.

What Is Minimal?

I went to check out Michael Mayer this past week. I don't know all that much about techno. But I know Kompakt. And I know Mayer. And I know both are responsible for pumping out extremely solid music.
So I guess it should have come as no surprise that a track he played at the tail end of his set that had me loosing my shit - was a release on his very own Kompakt label.
Is Walter Neff techno? Is Walter Neff pop? Who cares. It's an amazing tune that I've had on repeat for days now...
